About Giclee Prints
Giclee prints are printed in Scotts very own digital darkroom using an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer and an Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer. Both printers use Epsons UltraChrome inks. This technology rivals the color quality and print color longevity of traditional lab prints by using seven colors of pigment based inks. The ink is a pigment-based ink as opposed to most ink jet printers today that use dye based inks that fade much faster. Under optimal display conditions, Epson claims the prints will last 75+ years without fading.
About the Print Only
Prints come un-mounted and un-framed. Prints have an acid free foam board backing for support and are protected with removable clear protective bag. 8x10 and 11x14 prints are printed on Epson Enhanced Matte paper or 100% cotton, fine art paper. The image will be initialed and the border will be titled and signed. 16x20 prints and larger will be printed on 100% cotton, fine art paper. They are limited edition prints and come numbered, titled, signed, and with a certificate of authenticity. Different print sizes will contain different amounts of the same image due to different cropping ratios.
About the limited edition prints vs. open edition prints
Limited edition prints come in editions of 150 prints per size, per image. For example: Icicles 1 will have 150- 16x20 , 150- 20x30, and 150- 30x40 prints produced. After a particular size has reached 150 prints, production of that size will discontinue. Not all images will have a 30x40 edition available. Open edition sizes will have an unlimited number of prints made. Even after all the limited edition prints are sold out, open edition prints will still be available.
About the Unframed Double Matted items
Prints come mounted to acid free foam board with a double 100% rag mat. Prints come in a clear protective bag. They are intended to be removed from the bag and framed behind glass. Mat sizes are standard sizes and will fit into most standard pre-made frames of the same size. You have the choice of either a white mat with a black inner mat or a black mat with a white inner mat. About the Framed items
Same as unframed double matted items but also come in a black metal frame with glass front. Frame comes with hanging wire attached and a courtesy hanging hook. Options Information.
About the Greeting Cards
Greeting Cards are a 4x6 print, mounted in a 5x7 greeting card. The cards come in either black or white and include a white envelope. The cards are blank on the inside for your personal greeting. (Gel type pens work best for writing on the black cards.) The back of each card contains a brief description of the image. Cards come individually wrapped in plastic for surface protection. Cards will fit into most pre-made 5x7 frames.
Print color
The color of the prints may not be the exact color they appear to be on your computer monitor. This is because color varies from monitor to monitor. The artist chooses to match the prints as closely as possible to the original transparency, rather than monitor output or any published replications.
Titles
Print titles are merely titles and are in no way intended to be exact descriptions of the image.
