Hello, my name is Scott Thompson. I
am a photographer and family man who has been shooting seriously since 1996.
In 2002, my family and I moved to Truckee. This is when I was inspired by
the constant exposure to the Tahoe area’s natural beauty to start my fine
art photography business. I like to think that I have a unique way of
looking at life and the beauty it has to offer and photography is my
favorite way to express this. I have been educated in painting and drawing
as well as photography, and I feel this has added greatly to my photography
style. Hopefully you will enjoy the images I have captured as much as I do.
I shoot mostly with my Canon EOS3 and my Mamiya
645J although some of my shots are taken with a variety of other cameras. I
also shoot with a variety of films including 35mm and 120mm slide, negative,
black and white, and infrared. Sometimes I even use alternative developing
techniques to get intentionally manipulated colors. Most of my slides and
negatives are scanned with my Canon Canoscan FS 4000 US and my prints are
done with my Epson Stylus Photo 2200 or my Epson Stylus Pro 9600. Although I
use a computer to scan and print my images, I try to only use it as a tool
to get my final print to look as close as possible to the original
transparency. What you see is actually on the slide or negative.
If you would like to meet me in person or view my
prints in exhibition, please visit my
News and Upcoming Shows page
for dates of shows. I participate in art and craft fairs mostly in the Tahoe
area and my photos are displayed at local stores and galleries.
Enjoy your visit to my virtual gallery. Thank you
for stopping by. |
